Grossular : Ca3Al2[SiO4]3

Rimpfischwäng range, Findel glacier (Findeln glacier; Findelen glacier) area, Zermatt, Matt Valley, Zermatt - Saas Fee area, Wallis (Valais), Switzerland

This specimen is an unusual knob of aggregated grossular garnet crystals, sort of in the form and size of a large egg, perched on a bit of matrix. It is possible, actually, that this is demantoid in fact. 7.5 x 5.4 x 3.8 cm
