El Mochito Mine, Santa Bárbara Department, Honduras

Cinnamon colored andradites and small quartz crystals compose the bulk of this specimen from this Ag-Zn-Pb mine in northwestern Honduras. The deposit at the El Mochito mine was discovered in 1938 and is still mined today.

A RARE, EXCELLENT and SHOWY silver wire specimen from Honduras!! Lustrous to tarnished, curved silver wires are richly scattered on the vuggy matrix of this very fine old-timer. Many of the wires have a fine patina. Honduras silver specimens are VERY SELDOM seen on the market and this is choice material. 6.1 x 5.7 x 5.2 cm
