Matrix coated one side with web-like structures of brilliant native (natural) gold. The gold crystals are interconnected throughout in elongated, irregular shapes. Looks beautiful under magnification. This famous mine is now closed forever. Overall size of mineral specimen: 3x2x2 cm. Size of individual crystals: 1-2 mm.

6.0 x 5.3 x 3.2 cm. A SUPERB and AESTHETIC Olinghouse gold specimen. This showy piece is RICHLY covered with nests filled with tiny, scintillating gold wires. The gold is etched out of the cream-colored calcite that fills the vugs in the porphyritic host rock. This excellent gold displays beautifully without any aide. Ex. Scott Kleine Collection.

4.7 x 2.9 x 2.1 cm. The closeup pic shows why these are called "nest" golds - incredibly intricate puffs of crystalline wire gold. There are two of these balls here, each about 1.2 cm, and all gold.
