Glauconite : K0.08R11.33 R20.67 [][Al0.13Si3.87O10](OH)2

Calcite (Var: Nickeloan Calcite) : (Ca,Ni)[CO3], Calcite : CaCO3

Podol'sk, Moscow Oblast' (Moscovskaya Oblast'), Central Region, Russia

Crust of calcite from karst in dolomitized limestones of Carbon age. More former layer of pure Calcite is greyish, while the more later layer of Nickeloan Calcite with ~2 mas.% NiO has greenish colour. FOV is ~5.5x3.5 cm. Collected by Victor I. Calcite (Var: Nickeloan Calcite) : (Ca,Ni)[CO3], Calcite : CaCO3

Podol'sk, Moscow Oblast' (Moscovskaya Oblast'), Central Region, Russia

Calcite crust from karst in dolomitized limestones of Carbon age. Limestone is coloured by karst clay material - "terra rossa". More former layer of pure Calcite is greyish to colourless, while the more later layer of Nickeloan Calcite with ~2 mas.% NiO has greenish colour. Specimen size is 9x6x2.5 cm. Collected by Victor I.
