Pyrite : FeS2, Quartz : SiO2

Desmont Mine (Homer Yellowknife prospect), Wilberforce, Monmouth Township, Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada

Approximately a 2.5 mm pyrite on quartz matrix. Was taken using a 10x loupe held up to a 3.2 Mp Sony Cyber-Shot. Was collected in the summer of 2003. Is in the collection of the photographer.

Here is a piece of green Serpentine from the Desmont Mine, near Wilberforce. The sample is 9.2 cm long, 5.4 cm wide, and 5.3 cm tall. The piece has white calcite veins crossing through the sample.
