Honey-colored cluster of calcite crystals from what is now called the Stoneco quarry (current owner and operator) at 6837 Scofield Rd, Maybee, Michigan. The calcite fluoresces a light orange under SW UV, and a pleasing magenta color under MW. The specimen is about 4 cm across the base. Photo and specimen: Steve Stuart.

Lustrous blue-gray celestine crystals up to 13 mm with overgrowth of .5 mm strontianite crystals. The strontianite are lustrous and fluoresce white under UV illumination. No damage. Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x25x20 mm. Size of individual crystals: .5-13 mm.

Exceptional cluster of blue celestine crystals up to 6 cm long! Excellent color, the two large crystals are completely undamaged. Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x7x3 cm. Size of individual crystals: 5-6 cm.

4.1 x 3.8 x 1.1 cm. A rare floater, and of an unusually fine size for miniature collectors, of an American classic: blue-grey Michigan celestine. This complete, translucent crystal, with super luster, came out of the collection of Carlton Davis.

Xls to 1.5 cm. Modris B. coll. Acquired July 1975 thanks to a local collector who gave me some of his specimens during a 15 minute stop on my way home from the West Coast. I never knew the name but I still remember the generosity.

Celestine, beautiful prismatic crystal, 7.0 x 4.6 x 3.8 cm., from Stoneco Maybee Quarry (aka Scofield Quarry). Part of a 1995 find described in "American Mineral Treasures", 2008 (p. 213). Collected by Dave Doherty, Dave Lowrie and Dave Pachon, with about 100 specimens, from a 1.9 x 1.7 x 0.5 meter pocket. Gift D. Doherty. K. Nash specimen (#0078) ...
