The top surface of the specimen is partially coated with second generation fluorite, barite and minor chalcopyrite. |

Rosiclare Sub-District, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA Crust of colorless fluorite 2 cm thick over matrix. The face of the fluorite is terminated with purple fluorite up to 25 mm on edge. Scattered over the fluorite are small black sphalerite crystals and colorless calcite crystals. Ex. Earle Sullivan collection (Ct.). Overall size of mineral specimen: 9x5x5 cm. Size of individual crystals: 2-25 mm. |
