Clinozoisite : {Ca2}{Al3}[O|OH|SiO4|Si2O7], Quartz : SiO2, Axinite-(Fe) : Ca2Fe2+Al2[OH|BSi4O15]

Geigenberg Quarry, Kirchham, Maishofen, Saalfelden, Salzburg, Austria

11.5 x 8.1 x 5.7 cm. A fine cabinet combination piece from the well-known, but abandoned Geigenberg Quarry of Austria. The quarry was mined for diabase. Two, fan-like clusters of lustrous, parallel-growth, olive-green clinozoisite blades are nestled in the center of a large vug and are surrounded and accented by milky quartz and light purple ...

Clinozoisite : {Ca2}{Al3}[O|OH|SiO4|Si2O7]

Schwarzenstein Mt., Zemmgrund, Ziller valley, North Tyrol, Tyrol, Austria

1.8 x .5 x.5 cm. This twinned crystal has good color, fine adamantine luster, good clarity, and an excellent termination. Add to that a very rare long prismatic habit (on top of being twinned), and this becomes a very choice thumbnail specimen, quite unusual for the species at this locality. Ex. Marilyn Dodge Collection.
