Pseudohexagonal thin blades of coalingite, mineral related to brugnatellite and hydrotalcite, on serpentinite matrix. The cavity in the central part of the photo is around 0.55 mm wide. Specimen obtained from Jiri Spalek - thanks!

Hunting Hill quarry (Rockville Crushed Stone Quarry; Travilah Quarry; Rockville Quarry; Bardon Stone Quarry), Rockville, Montgomery Co., Maryland, USA

Coalingite on serpentine with small hydromagnesite crystals on left side of photo. This Coalingite specimen consists metallic-looking flakes. Usually the Coalingite at Hunting Hill is fiberous. Collected by J. Wingard 10-04 and in my personal collection. Specimen is approximately 12 cm across.
