Smectite (group) is regarded as a “nuisance” mineral at STA. It often covers other minerals, especially yofortierite (see child photo). Smectite Group : A_0.3D_2-3[T₄O₁₀]Z₂·nH₂O, Calcite : CaCO₃, Phillipsite
	Karikás Hill, Bazsi, Tapolcai Basin, Veszprém Co., Hungary Calcite grown around smectite "needles". The smectite is possibly Saponite (Ref.: Szakáll: Mineral Systems), and the form comes from pseudomorphed or covered zeolites. The phillipsite is on the wall of cavity. Picture size 7x6 mm.
