Crystalline associated with lepidolite; 6.8x5x1.5cm; This specimen was analyzed at the University of Oklahoma, and confirmed. Only the third reported occurrence, and large samples for the species, all obtained from one oval mass on lepidolite, cleavelandite, quartz pegmatite. This is a small piece of crystalline Monazite-(Sm) in a Cleavelandite matrix which I collected in Sept. 2009 There appear to be other minerals, but they are currently unidentified. This is a rare piece from this newly discovered occurance. Size 2.5cm x 1.8 cm x .7cm

This is one of the few rare pieces of Monazite-(Sm) from the Brown Derby #1. It was collected by Rudy Bolona, whom I was collecting with, who kindly sent it to me. This specimen also contains finer grained Lepidolite, small amounts of Cleavelandite, quartz and other unidentified minerals.
