Cronstedtite : Fe2+2Fe3+[(Si,Fe3+)2O5](OH)4

A rich crust covered with sharp, lustrous , fat crystals to 2-3 mm in size, makes this a very fine miniature of this classic rarity (a complex iron silicate with multiple oxidation states of iron in the same crystal). It comes from one of the important old location, as well. Superb miniature, better in person 5 x 3.9 x 1.6 cm

3.5 x 2.3 x 1.8 cm. Cronstedtite is a rare iron silicate of the serpentine group. This very rich and showy little specimen is festooned with lustrous, black, trigonal crystals to 3 mm on a 3-dimensional crust of matrix.
