Davidite

Luswishi River, South East Solwezi, North-Western Province, Zambia

15.5 x 14.9 x 10.3 cm. At over 8 pounds in weight, massing nearly 4 kilograms, this is a huge crystal. Luswishi River, South East Solwezi, North-Western Province, Zambia

2.7 x 1.9 x 1.7 cm. A fine thumbnail crystal cluster with sharp form and a rich chocolaty lustre unusual for the species. The piece weighs 14 grams. It is an important, rare specimen from a find that I certainly had never even seen one piece from before. This was locked away in a university study drawer since its discovery in the 1970s.
