Treschina fumarole, Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough (North Breach), Great Fissure (Main Fracture) eruption, Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Oblast', Far-Eastern Region, Russia Dark-brown, transparent, striated, complex twinned crystals of dolerophanite in the furrow of the large chalcocyanyte crystal. Chalcocyanite is absolutely fresh, anhydrous, translucent to transparent greyish to yellowish. Associating minerals are silvery-grey balls of tenorite and very minor green euchlorine. FOV is ~3x2 mm. Treschina fumarole, Second scoria cone, Northern Breakthrough (North Breach), Great Fissure (Main Fracture) eruption, Tolbachik volcano, Kamchatka Oblast', Far-Eastern Region, Russia Two dolerophanite generations. The first one form light-brown finecrystaline crust replacing feldspar-like white chalcocyanite crystals. The second one form large dark-brown crystals over green euchlorine.
