Datolite : CaB[OH|SiO4]

Wessels Mine (Wessel's Mine), Hotazel, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa

Nicely developed and lustrous, these crystals have an awful lot of character for the species aside from teh unusual pink color. IN person, they are a more pure pink thant the lavender-pink they show up as in the photos 5.5 x 4.2 x 2.9 cm

Datolite : CaB[OH|SiO4]

Wessels Mine (Wessel's Mine), Hotazel, Kalahari manganese fields, Northern Cape Province, South Africa

4.1 x 3.2 x 1.7 cm. A lovely plate of bladed tabular Datolites growing on a covered knoll of matrix. The lavender pink Datolites are gemmy and highly lustrous. The largest spans about 1.3 cm. This attractive piece is very representative of the Datolites from the Wessels Mine but they are very rare. Ex. Charlie Key stock.
