Elbaite : [Na][(Li,Al)3][Al6][(OH)3|OH|(BO3)3|Si6O18]

Araçuaí, Jequitinhonha valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil

4.0 x 1.3 x 1.1 cm. A pure gem crystal of tourmaline, bottle-green, from Brazil. This is actually a compound crystal; the thicker partial crystal, attached in back, broke off in the pocket and then healed on top. The other part of the crystal continued to grow, and terminated in a pretty multiple termination. Weighs 9.5 grams.

Araçuaí, Jequitinhonha valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil

4.2 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm. An excellent, very sculptural combination piece from the late 80’s-early 90’s. The Lepidolites and Albites are very well-formed, and the beautiful, gemmy, and lustrous Tourmaline is 1.6 cm long. The aesthetics of the way the Tourmaline nestles among the other minerals is terrific.

Elbaite : [Na][(Li,Al)3][Al6][(OH)3|OH|(BO3)3|Si6O18]

Araçuaí, Jequitinhonha valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil

5.1 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm. A rare sceptred crystal of TOURMALINE - formed not through anomalous growth, but through etching that took away the outer portion of the lower part of the crystal, exposing the pink core as a stalk and leaving the gemmy green multiply-terminated cap!
