Laghman (Lagman; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

Beautifull group of Emerald crystals on a black schist matrix. The main crystal has great clarity, although a bit veiled and a few minor flaws. The color is absolutely stunning, perfect emerald-green! Main xl is terminated, although termination is complex and covered by a thin layer of schist. It has smooth edges and surface is kinda frosted from ...

Badel (Budel) emerald mine, Nangarhar (Ningarhar) Province, Afghanistan

6.0 x 5.0 x 1.8 cm. This is one of the oldest and most significant Emerald mines in the world. This area has been mined for Emerald specimens for approximately 1000 years. This piece features somewhat translucent, rich emerald green color, "stubby" crystals of Emerald on schist matrix. The crystals are somewhat gemmy in areas, and are reasonably ...

Beryl (Var: Emerald) : Be3(Al,Cr)2Si6O18

Panjsher (Panjshir) Valley, Hessa-e-Say District, Panjshir (Panjsheer) Province, Afghanistan

Without a doubt, this is the best Afghan specimen emerald for quality, regardless of size, I have ever seen. White marble acts as the matrix for a very gemmy, deep, emerald green, lustrous, crystal that measures 1.25 cm in length. One seldom sees specimens for sale and Afghan emeralds are uncommon in collections. Mostly, they are sold over there ...

Panjsher (Panjshir) Valley, Hessa-e-Say District, Panjshir (Panjsheer) Province, Afghanistan

Three GEMMY, bright green emerald crystals in matrix, from a locality in Afghanistan that has turned out FAR fewer emeralds than the famous Columbian ones - these are much more rare on the specimen market as most are sold quickly for gem and cabbing rough. This valley was disputed heavily during the afghan civil wars because of its importance in ...

Panjsher (Panjshir) Valley, Hessa-e-Say District, Panjshir (Panjsheer) Province, Afghanistan

6.6 x 3.7 x 1.0 cm. An extremely impressive (for Afghanistan especially) 4.3-cm emerald crystal in schist matrix! The crystal has fine bright green color, and is transparent-to-translucent for its entire length. It has fine luster, and is complete and undamaged. It displays beautifully, since it was trimmed to extend past the matrix (some schist ...

Panjsher (Panjshir) Valley, Hessa-e-Say District, Panjshir (Panjsheer) Province, Afghanistan

4.0 x 3.4 x 2.0 cm. Stunning, absolutely gemmy, intense green emeralds in matrix from Panjsher Valley. This is an amazing matrix miniature of unusual quality not just for the matrix, but for the sheer quality of the crystals themselves which is unusual in Panjsher specimens.
