Postmasburg, Griqualand, Northern Cape Province, South Africa 6.7 x 3.9 x 3.2 cm. Sharp, richly colored crystals to 6mm of this rare species related to diaspore, clustered attractively on a display-sized matrix, make this both an important rarity AND a fine display specimen for any collection. These rarities were found in the late 1970s or early 1980s and not since, in any quality. Ex. Charlie Key. |

Gamagara Ridge, Gloucester Farm, Postmasburg manganese field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa Ephesite. Vasco Trancoso collection and photo. Size: 8.4 x 5.3 x 5.2 cm with crystals up to 7,5mm. This particularly unusual find (mid-1980s), was a major one in South Africa. This piece is outstanding for size and overall color of the display view. I would say it has to be "up there" in quality for the species. The rich, luscious cherry-red ... |
