Sugary purple Fluorite on limestone. FOV ~12mm. Fluorite of this kind is rarely encountered in several Findlay Arch localities. I have specimens from Lime City, Clay Center and Newport (Thomson McCully).

Lustrous near transparent amber colored cubic fluorite crystals to 3.2 cm on edge forming an inter-locking cluster with very thin minor matrix attached at the base. Measures 4.9 x 3.5 x 3.3 cm in size overall. A slight chip is present on the lower right hand side crystal corner, otherwise perfect. This is very nice for fluorite at this ...

Two cubes of light yellow fluorite on gray limestone matrix (3.5cm by 1.6cm) from the Stoneco quarry, Lime City, Wood County, Ohio. The fluorite cube in front is so clear that you can see the limestone matrix right through it - the faces are complete but hard to see in the photo. Photo by and in the collection of J. Nemitz.
