Galena : PbS

Cave-in-Rock, Cave-in-Rock Sub-District, Illinois - Kentucky Fluorspar District, Hardin Co., Illinois, USA

A large dullish lead-gray grouping of stepped galena crystals, almost complete all around, without matrix. This is very, very large for crystallized galena from Cave-in-Rock! Overall I think in great condition damage-wise. Measures 9.0 x 6.6 x 6.2 cm in size overall. Ex Gene Tribbey collection #321 with data card dating the specimen to 1964.
