Namivu, Alto Ligonha District, Zambezia Province, Mozambique Hemispherical radiated crystaline agregate of scandian ixiolite. Its empyrical formula is (Nb1.21Ta.78Sc.59Fe".49Fe"'.37Ti.25Mn.15W.12Zr.04)4O8. Note that this ixiolite variety is Nb-dominant and Sn-free. So it is really distinct specie from usual Ta-dominant ixiolite. FOV is ~15x12 mm. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo. |
