Tazna Mine (Tasna Mine; Tazna-Rosario Mine), Cerro Tazna, Atocha-Quechisla District, Nor Chichas Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia This is a downright incredible crystal of this exceptionally rare bismuth tellurium sulfide , from a relatively new locality for the species as brought to market recently by Alfredo Petrov (and the analysis was confirmed by Excalibur Mineral Co. as well as by Marcus Origlieri). These are the largest crysatls for the species, of good form, by far. ... |

Dolomite quarry, Rędziny, Czarnów, Rudawy Janowickie Mts, Lower Silesia (Dolnośląskie), Poland 3 mm wide joseite blade, here easily distiguished from phlogopite, of similar habit. Some secondary Bi minerals are seen too. The specimen (gift from Rafał Siuda - thanks!) comes from a phlogopite lens where giant native bismuth, as well as secondary pingguite, were found. |

Sensel indicates the specimen was acquired in 1939 from the Poughkeepsie Collection (Vassar College?) and has old label. Location mislabeled as: Calbeck, Scotland. Ex. Dr. E. Sensel collection #M249. Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x3.5x2.5 cm. Size of individual crystals: 2-5 mm. |
