Demix-Varennes quarry, Saint-Amable sill, Varennes & St-Amable, Lajemmerais RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada

FOV 1.1 x 1.4 mm. Modris B. coll.
From an analyzed find. Halogen lighting made the xls look colorless - but they are only pale pink even under tungsten lighting. The xls are small but more shaply crystallized than most MSH specimens. However, unlike MSH, ancylite-(Ce) is not very common at STA.

Demix-Varennes quarry, Saint-Amable sill, Varennes & St-Amable, Lajemmerais RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada

Modris Baum collection. FOV 1.2 x 1.5 mm. This is from an analyzed find.
Folklore has it that this flat bladed habit is characteristic of calcioancylite-(Ce) but that is not the case here.
The color of ancylite-(Ce) is very dependent on the lighting used. This is a single focus shot using tungsten lighting and tungsten film.
