Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

Typical appearance of keiviite-(Y) at the locality. It grows in thin veinlets of later light-violet to colourless yttrofluorite-III (with only ~1-2 % of Y) in amazonite blocks. Keiviite-(Y) forms tabular creamy-white crystals up to 1-2 mm in such veinlets. FOV is 1.5x1.2 cm. Selfcollected in September 1990. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

Keiviite-(Y) : (Y,Yb)2[Si2O7], Monazite-(Ce) : (Ce,La,Nd,Th)PO4

Ploskaya Mt, Western Keivy Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

White 0.8 mm segregation of keiviite-(Y) tabular crystals in later monazite-hydromica veinlet within massive amazonite. Keiviite-(Y) in difference from Keiviite-(Yb) grow only in later veinlets of light-violet yttrofluorite-III or such type hidromica one. Keiviite-(Yb) is much more abundant at the locality and form minute impregnation in violet ...

Åskagen (Torskebäcken), Filipstad, Värmland, Sweden

~2x1 mm white grain of keiviite-(Y) in grey massive thalenite-(Y). Keiviite composition is (Y1.67Yb.21Dy.04Er.03Gd.02Tm.02)1.996[Si2.004O7]. Specimen was collected before 2005. Pavel M. Kartashov collection, analysis and photo.

Åskagen (Torskebäcken), Filipstad, Värmland, Sweden

Yttrium minerals assemblage of pegmatitic origin: flesh-coloured massive yttrium silicate-carbonate, iimoriite-(Y), with white specks of yttrium ytterbium disilicate, keiviite-(Y) and black ingrown allanite-(Y). Field of view is a bit over 1 cm. Specimen obtained from Sonke Stolze - thanks!
