Beautiful gemmy blue crystals of lazulite to 1.2 cm on a quartz matrix. These crystals represent some of the most gemmy lazulite that we have seen outside of the Yukon. Höllgraben, Pfarrwerfen, Werfen, Salzburg, Austria

Austria hosts a whole couple of lazulite occurences.
One of the best known is the Höllgraben valley next to Werfen, Salzburg.
The blue crystals are accompanied by quartz and breunnerite.

Raidlgraben ("Radelgraben"), Fritzbach valley, Pöham, Werfen, Salzburg, Austria

Thin lazulite (blue) veinlet with some quartz is crosscutting greenish Werfen slates with sandy layers. Collected a few meters south of the first bridge and a few meters above the creek on the eastern slope. Polished slab, field of view 7 cm, sample AN107.
