Calcite (Var: Manganoan Calcite) : (Ca,Mn)CO3

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

Gorgeous, light-pink platy crystals piled atop one another, with a beautiful overall form. The specimen is really lustrous, and has a fine overall form. 8.8 x 6 x 4 cm

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

A scepter crystal measuring approx. 12cm x 6.6cm x 6cm. This specimen is sharp, glassy, and complete all around, displaying a rich pink color. The specimen is highly fluorescent as well. The Russian dealer from whom I obtained it told me that only a very few of these sceptered crystals were ever found from this locale.

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

7 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm. An exquisite Russian pink calcite, featuring three large, intergrown crystals with sharp form and pretty pyramidal terminations. The color is a pleasing pink due to manganese content. Such well-formed crystals are uncommon for Dal’negorsk manganoan calcites. Fluoresces orange under UV.

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

15.4 x 14.6 x 8.2 cm. Exemplary set of multiple dramatic, doubly-terminated Manganoan calcite crystals. Each crystal has a fine light pink color, very good luster, and intense strong fluorescence. One of the smaller crystals is partially contacted, but it has no effect on the overall aesthetics, which are outstanding and complete otherwise. An ...

Calcite (Var: Manganoan Calcite) : (Ca,Mn)CO3, Sphalerite : (Zn,Fe2+)S

2nd Sovietskii Mine (2nd Sovietskiy Mine), Dal'negorsk (Dalnegorsk; Tetyukhe; Tjetjuche; Tetjuche), Primorskiy Kray, Far-Eastern Region, Russia

6 x 5.5 x 3 cm. Just a stunning Dal’negorsk combo specimen. The calcites not only have wonderfully sharp poker-chip form, but a lovely pastel pink color from manganese. They sit on a beautifully contrasting matrix of dark crystallized sphalerite. The calcites are actually like little sandwiches, transparent in the middle and milky-translucent on ...
