Grace Mine, Morgantown, Berks Co., Pennsylvania, USA Large single crystal of octahedral magnetite with minor matrix. The crystal surfaces is composed of many parallel crystal faces resulting in a stepped surface. No damage. Overall size of mineral specimen: 25x24x22 mm. Size of individual crystals: 22 mm. |

Grace Mine, Morgantown, Berks Co., Pennsylvania, USA Complex modified dodecahedral crystals of Magnetite from Grace Mine, Morgantown, Berks Co., Pennsylvania. A well crystalized miniature, but lacking the complex stepped surface development, often accented by white amphibole, for which the mine is best known. Specimen size: 5.5 x 4cm. From the PA Annex of my personal collection, acquired in 2006. |
