Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

A beautiful crystal with a bit of matrix to accent, showing superb, deep pink color - not the typical pale pastel hue! It is also a very 3-dimensional, fat crystal with exceptional sharpness. The crystal is translucent, more so in person than it appears, but not truly gemmy. Complete on front and sides, contacted only on the bottom. 5.7 x 4.5 x ...

Beryl (Var: Morganite) : Be3Al2Si6O18, Schorl : [Na][Fe2+3][Al6][(OH)3|OH|(BO3)3|Si6O18]

Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

This is a failry good-sized , richly pink colored, morganite crystal, in which three of the four faces around the sides ARE complete so it displays very well though it is not complete all around, per se. It is translucent to transparent, with some good gemminess in major areas. Accenting crystals of schorl give nice contrast and make this a showy ...
