Pedra Preta pit, Serra das Éguas, Brumado (Bom Jesus dos Meiras), Bahia, Northeast Region, Brazil

2.1 x 2.0 x 0.4 cm. Novacekite is an uncommon magnesium uranyl arsenate. This fine thumbnail consists of lustrous, layered plates of pastel-yellow novacekite and is from the Pedra Preta Mine, near Brumado, Brazil. The world’s finest novacekites come from this area.
