	Saga 1 Quarry, Sagåsen (Strandåsen), Mørje, Porsgrunn, Telemark, Norway Part of a thorite sample, variety "orangite". FOV about 3,5 mm X 5 mm. Sample was collected by photographer in 1978, being 7 years old. It's actualy the oldest self-collected sample in my collection, and the absolutely best coloured "orangite". Photo taken 14. March 2008.

Thorite (Var: Orangite) : (Th,U)[SiO₄]
	Langesundsfjorden, Larvik, Vestfold, Norway A specimen of orangey-brown, metamict thorite of the variety formerly known as "orangeite" from the classic locality of Langesundfjorden, Norway. Specimen is 8cm wide. This specimen was dates from the 1850's or earlier, and is accompanied by an original hand-written paper label from that era. (A photo of the label is attached as a child photo.)

	A/S Granit Quarry, Tuften (Tuften 1 Quarry; Tuften 2 Quarry), Tvedalen, Larvik, Vestfold, Norway Fragments of thorite variety "orangite", the sample in the middle is about 4 cm long. Found in loose gravel in a pile, first thought to be painted rocks... Collected 27. June 2009 by the photographer.

	A/S Granit Quarry, Tuften (Tuften 1 Quarry; Tuften 2 Quarry), Tvedalen, Larvik, Vestfold, Norway Large mass of the thorite variety "orangite" in a block from the level 1 pegmatite in AS Granit quarry. The strongly metamict thorite are brown at the rims changing colour to almost milky white at the core. FOV ca 15 x 19 cm. This sample was found by Wilfried Steffens, and picture was taken same day 22. August 2009 by Peter Andresen.
