Jerusalem Creek, Woodburn, Fifield, Cunningham Co., New South Wales, Australia SEM image of surface of tulameenite micronugget from picture #158731. We see scratched surface of medium-grey in BSE tulameenite with more bright V-shape inclusion of intergrown tabular crystals of iridosmine with composition (Os.49Ir.45Ru.05Rh.01). The later is much more harder of malleable tulameenite matrix and has positive relief. Dark-grey ... |

Ekaterinburgskaya (Sverdlovskaya) Oblast', Middle Urals, Urals Region, Russia These crystals were obtained in an old collection and were labeled as "Iridosmine (Rutheniridosmine)" but the current nomenclature is Osmium - a rare combination of Osmium, Iridium, and Ruthenium. These 3 specimens consist of thin, brilliantly metallic crystals that range in size from 2mm to 2.85mm. |
