Large crude steel-grey crystal of Arsenopyrite embedded in sugary reddish-pink Rhodonite matrix (overall 7.5 x 5.0 x 4.0 cm – 338 g). Initially labelled as "Löllingite" but unambiguously XRD-probed as Arsenopyrite. JF collection specimen (#00828) and photograph.

Slabbed portion of dirty sandstone containing large arsenopyrite laths collected from the mine dumps. Quartz pressure shadows have developed in areas of low strain around the arsenopyrite during subsequent deformation. Pale carbonate spots have also developed in the rock. Field of view 4.5cm.
