A magnified view of an aegerine ball aggregate of crystals perched on microcline plates. Field of View here is 15mm x 10mm with the ball in the center having 2-3mm diameter.

This is a magnified view of a small vug. Field of View is 20mm x 15mm. The Aegerine appears as balls of green needles in the center. They are perched on an base of microcline crystals resembling white plates. To the right is a rose colored eudialyte. There is also a clear crystal which I think is natrolite, but am not certain at this point.

This is part of a faily typical (but larger than average) miarolitic cavity with tufts of green aegirine. The white cavity lining is mostly small microcline xls. The shiny black xl is PS of birnessite/rancieite after serandite. (Thanks to Laszlo Horvath for information regarding the rancieite.) The opal is hard to ...
