Pectolite : NaCa₂[HSi₃O₉]
	Jeffrey mine (Jeffrey quarry; Johns-Manville mine), Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Québec, Canada Large parallel crystal bundles of colorless pectolite up to 30 mm long. The terminations show many individual crystals about 1 mm thick. Small secondary mineral (aragonite?) on the surface fluoresces under UV illumination. Ex. A. Stevenson collection. Overall size of mineral specimen: 30x30x20 mm. Size of individual crystals: 15-30 mm.

	Jeffrey mine (Jeffrey quarry; Johns-Manville mine), Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Québec, Canada Field is 3.2 cm wide. The pectolite was lovingly glued to the blue backing. You are essentially looking straight down into a TN box in this view. (This is one of those “doesn’t do it justice” photos.) Update September 2009. Better but ... One of these days. The high reflectivity makes it tough. Stereo child photo (also updated).
