This specimen hosts a broad face of lustrous, jet-black balls of collomorphous botryoidal Uraninite (var. Pitchblende)on a massive Calcite matrix. In addition, there are a few tiny vugs with tiny submillimeter Pyrite crystals on the reverse. Specimen size is 5.72cm x 5.22cm x 4.77cm.

Bukov Mine, Rožná deposit, Vysočina Region, Moravia (Mähren; Maehren), Czech Republic

Polished section in reflected light. Spherulites of pinkish Pitchblende within calcite matrix with slightly bluish Berzelianite and bright-lilac Umangite. Minor yellow selenoan Chalcopyrite also present. FOV is ~3x2.5 mm. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.
