Black Cloud Mine (Resurrection Mine 0080650339; Yak Tunnel; Leadville Unit; Irene Shaft), Iowa Gulch, Leadville, Leadville District, Lake Co., Colorado, USA

Considering that this is an “oldtimer” from Leadville, it is in remarkably good condition. The bright mirror luster and intergrown pyrite cubes to 2 cm, along with the sculptured appearance, make this specimen one of the nicest specimens I have seen from this venerated old locality. Old Burminco label. 10 x 7.3 x 2 cm

A choice loose "floater" crystal of bright brassy lustrous pyrite measuring 3.1 x 2.6 x 2.5 cm in size. Complete all around with only very slight and minor chipping; overall in very good shape. The crystal shows nice striations. Very good for the locality. Ex Don Belsher collection; previous label from Robert Stouffer. Ref: Rocks & Minerals: ...
