Darra-i-Pech (Darra-e-Pech) Pegmatite Field, Nangarhar (Ningarhar) Province, Afghanistan 16.0 x 9.9 x 6.9 cm. A 4.5 cm GEM crystal of tourmaline, a beautiful light pastel pink color, on a matrix of glittery albite. The tourmaline is a superb compound crystal with all terminations complete and shining with glassy bevels. The crystal stands well out from the matrix and is exposed all around. |

Fewer of these have come out of late, though. It is complete all around and pristine, save only for the uneven bottom (and that can be clipped if it bothers anybody...i kinda like it as a natural pedestal). 5.1 x ... |

It is complete and nearly perfect all around, 3-Dimensional, and without repair. Note how the top of the piece elegantly splays out from the narrower base, making this less "lumpy" than ... |
