Corundum (Var: Sapphire) : Al2O3

Mogok, Sagaing District, Mandalay Division, Burma (Myanmar)

Translucent, blue crystal of sapphire. The crystal is six-sided and tapers at both ends. The complex crystal pattern resembles striated surfaces. One end was attached to matrix has clean contact. Overall size of mineral specimen: 17x7x7 mm. Size of individual crystals: 17 mm.
