One of the many wonderful specimens of Scolzite collected by Chris Johnston.
Field of view is approx 4cm across, with crystals to approx 1.8cm. The full specimen is approx 10cm x 10cm and has several smaller sprays of Scholzite on it.

This is probably the world's best locality for this rare species. The small cabinet sized specimen shown here is excellent, consisting of a 7.8 x 5 x 3.8 cm limonite matrix, the top richly scattered with transparent colorless needle-like crystals of scholzite to 1 cm in length. Classic specimen of Scholzite that could come from the last 1960s find. Sprays of white acicular crystals in a closed vug, with some inclusions of clay and on a cavernous Dolomite matrix. Specimens of this rare hydrated calcium and zinc phosphate are scarce.

Lustrous, acicular crystals of the RARE zince phosphate, scholzite, richly line vugs on all sides of the gossan matrix from the 1960s find at Reaphook Hill in South Australia. This is a VERY FINE specimen for the species and locality. 4.7 x 4.1 x 3.7 cm
