Khibiny Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia FOV 1.2 x 0.8 cm. Modris B coll (via Fersman Mineralogical Museum) Not terminated. The color of the shcherbakovite is orange brown and the xls have gemmy interiors. (See http://www.mindat.org/photo-200040.html) But most of them have a peculiar “woody” looking tan outer crust. Two stereo child photos. |

Khibiny Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia FOV 3.3 x 2.1 mm. Modris B coll (via Fersman Mineralogical Museum) This relatively small xl appears to be terminated and mostly free of the peculiar “woody” looking tan outer crust seen on other xls from this find. Thus it shows the “true” color pretty well. The labels just says "Khibina massif" Stereo child photo. |
