Dennis Hill locality (Litchfield sodalite locality), Litchfield, Kennebec Co., Maine, USA Blue sodalite surrounded by "white sodalite" (=hydronephelite) and associated brownish yellow cancrinite. FOV = 6.5 x 3 cm. Dennis Hill is the type locality for hydronephelite, but this material was subsequently discovered to be a fine-grained mixture of mostly natrolite with small amounts of gibbsite and diaspore. |
