Spodumene (Var: Kunzite) : LiAl[Si2O6]

Jegdalek (Jagdalek; Jagdalak; Jagdalik) Ruby Mine, Sorobi District, Kabol (Kabul) Province, Afghanistan

From one of the most classic and productive regions in the world to date for gem quality pink Spodumene. This very gemmy, lustrous, sharp crystal has good form, and excellent pink and purple trichroism. The piece is in good shape save a contact towards the bottom of the crystal. It''s a very gemmy crystal for the size and has a very attractive ...

Spodumene (Var: Kunzite) : LiAl[Si2O6]

Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

I cannot say enough about how impressive this huge gem crystal of kunzite is. It is actually far more impressive in person! This crystal actually weighs 1365 grams , or OVER 3 POUNDS, and most of it is GEM material! The specimen actually consists of two intergrown crystals, both terminated. But one of the two is supremely good, and constitutes ...

Spodumene (Var: Kunzite) : LiAl[Si2O6]

Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

A big, fat, fine kunzite gem crystal weighing over 250 grams! It is complete all around, terminated undamaged, and shows fine transparency through its entire length! Most importantly, you ahve the textbook sharp termination which you almost never see in practice, in a big kunzite gem crystal. Usually they are etched, or asymmetric. This is starkly ...

Spodumene : LiAl[Si2O6]

Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

Of all the colors of Afghani Spodumene, green is probably the most difficult to obtain. Recently, Ive seen these crystals marketed as "Hiddenite" which is NOT correct as true Hiddenite is Chromium-bearing and these crystals, despite the color similarity to Hiddenite are simply just green Spodumene. Nonetheless, this is still an impressive gem ...

Spodumene : LiAl[Si2O6]

Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

This MONSTER is a complete floater, intact all around and weighing 6.6 pounds or about 3 kilos! It is sharp, gemmy, and very VERY impressive in person. Show it to laymen who want to see a "big gem crystal" or the sophisticated collector, and its equally awesome. PIC DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE! 31.2 x 7.1 x 5.2 cm

Spodumene : LiAl[Si2O6]

Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

Rarely is Spodumene seen in twinned crystals, but they do exist. This specimen is a very good example of a twinned Spodumene with a distinct twinning plane visible through the length of the crystal. The crystal is quite gemmy and has a very attractive and uncommon greenish-yellow color. There is a contact on the termination, but the crystal is ...

Spodumene (Var: Kunzite) : LiAl[Si2O6], Tourmaline : AD3G6(BO3)3[T6O18]Y3Z

Konar (Kunar; Konarh; Konarha; Nuristan) Province, Afghanistan

Talk about color! This lilac kunzite has DEEP PURPLE COLOR: NOT PINK, but a true PURPLE. It is particularly intense on the long and shortest axes. I think the pics speak for themselves, here! The kunzite is also doubly-terminated, complete on the bottom as well. I will make a base so it can display nicely without having to be glued down. ...
