Tetradymite from Sonnblick Mtn., Rauris Valley, Salzburg, Austria.
Crystal size 10 mm. Huge for the spezies!
Analyzed by Gerald Giester, University of Vienna, Institute of Mineralogy and Crystallography.
This mineral is sometimes found in alpine clefts together with gold.
Self-collected - happy to find it!

Self collected on Sonnblick Mtn., Rauris Valley, Salzburg, Austria.
The brown coating is probably Montanite or Yecoraite.

Blades of tetradymite (the "east" one is 0.5 mm wide) in different possitions. The matrix is quartz and some possible secondary alteration is visible. The precise locality is Jakub Mine. Specimen obtained from Jiri Spalek - thanks!
