Asphaltum (Var: Albertite)

Millington Quarry (Morris County Crushed Stone Co. Quarry; Tilcon Quarry), Bernards Township, Somerset Co., New Jersey, USA

Black resinous masses of albertite, in calcite. Appearance of the specimen suggests that the albertite is filling in voids left behind by the removal of another mineral, which had been coated by calcite.
