Marysvale District (Marysvale Uranium area), Piute Co., Utah, USA

5 x 5 x 3.9 cm. Tiemannite is a very rare mercury selenide: simply HgSe. This is the classic locality for crystals: tiny black modified tetrahedra. Tiemannite : HgSe

Lucky Boy Mine, Mount Baldy District, Cottonwood Creek, Tushar Mts, Piute Co., Utah, USA

2.9 x 2.0 x 1.5 cm. This species is a very rare mercury selenide that forms good crystals at only a few locales. Although small (sub-mm micros), these are classic for this exhausted location and show good form under a scope. Excellent reference specimen, very hard to find. Ex. John White Collection.
