Astrocyanite-(Ce) : Cu2(Ce,Nd,La)2(UO2)[(OH)2|(CO3)5] · 1.5H2O, Kamotoite-(Y) : Y2(UO2)4[O4|(CO3)3] · 14H2O

Kamoto East Open cut, Kamoto, Kolwezi, Western area, Katanga Copper Crescent, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre)

This is, to my knowledge, the best " manageable " specimen of Astrocyanite associated with yellow Kamotoite from the Type Locality.
The mineral is extremely rare in good specimens.

5.3 x 3.8 x 3.5 cm. From the TYPE LOCALITY for both species, this is a superb specimen with eye-visible flat-laying kamotoite-(Y) crystals to 5mm or so, amidst other species including ultra-rare Astrocyanite-(Ce) (blue) with bubbly Uranophane around the periphery.
