New Cliffe Hill Quarry, Stanton under Bardon, Leicestershire, England, UK

Rare Tangeite - seen here as pale mint green areas of tufted mats and tangled hair-like acicular crystals closely associated with white cockscombe habit Baryte with Calcite on a brown Dolomite matrix. FOV > 1.5cms. Collected near bottom of quarry in 2005 and recently identified. Colleen Thomson Collection

Bright green blades of tangeite with yet unspecified blue mineral associating it. Field of view is a bit over 3.6 mm. Specimen obtained from Sonke Stolze - thanks!

Previously labelled Calciovolborthite I have renamed this specimen Tangeite in accordance with IMA Status 2006C discreditations, this being the CaCu(VO4)OH composition with TL from Tange Ravine, Turkestan. Specimen fov 1.5mm received from Tom Loomis
