Brinton's Quarry, West Chester, Westtown Township, Chester Co., Pennsylvania, USA Vermiculite (old varietal name: Jeffersite). Named after famed Chester Co. collector William Jefferies, whose collection formed the core of the Carnegie Museum collection. Brinton's Quarry, West Chester, Westtown Township, Chester Co., Pennsylvania, USA A fairly attractive and unusually thick micaceous plate of dark greenish vermiculite, nicknamed Jefferisite at the time because the best were noted to have been collected by famed East Coast collector William Jefferis (whose collection later ended up at the Carnegie).
