Metallic grey-violet cleavages of Violarite to a few mm with Pyrite in other sulfides. Right front surface is fresh, others are slightly weathered (overall 6.0 x 4.8 x 2.5 cm, 73 g). JF Carpentier specimen (#00420) and photograph.

Violarite : Fe2+Ni3+2S4

Kamchatka Oblast', Far-Eastern Region, Russia

About 7mm polished violarite. The violarite is the slightly purplish mineral with the cubic cleavage lines.
The specimen is from an unspecified ultrabasic intrusion on Kamchatka, collected back in Soviet times
