Kvanefjeld tunnel, Kvanefjeld Uranium deposit, Kuannersuit (Kvanefjeld) plateau, Ilimaussaq complex, Narsaq, Kitaa (West Greenland) Province, Greenland

A 0,6 mm group of rare, yellowish, platy vuonnemite crystals. It was originally embedded in villiaumite which was removed by soaking the specimen in water. Kvanefjeld tunnel is the second locality for vuonnemite in Greenland.

Associating minerals are orange prismatic serandite, brownish-black masses of neotocite between serandite prismes, minute pearly scales of shkatulkalite, replacing vuonnemite along its cleavage surfaces. Part of a larger Ussingite-Serandite-Vuonnemite specimen. Vuonnemite is pale yellow (center of picture), intergrown with lavender-colored Ussingite an minor yellowish-brown Serandite.
